Nagram is an historically important village and town area located on the eastern borders of the Mohanlalganj pargana in the Lucknow District, once associated with the Bais Rajas. The population, consisting mainly of Kurmis (2,016 persons in 1901), resisted the British during the 1857 Mutiny, resulting in the confiscation of their lands. The area is well-cultivated, maintained a primary school (in 1912-13), includes a Primary Health Centre, and is connected to Lucknow by a city bus service covering a distance of 48 km.
